PASSPORTS
The Kenya Government implemented the e-Passport issuing system from 1st September, 2017) as per International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Applicants will be required to submit applications online on the e-Citizen platform (visit https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/) and present themselves to accredited Immigration Passport Processing Centers in Kenya for processing.
Please note that the current valid passports will be in use until 31st August, 2019 after which they will be rendered invalid. Plans are ongoing with a view to launch the e-passport processing system in designated Kenyan Missions abroad.
Requirements for Renewing an Expired /Filled up / Name Change in Passports
- Two printouts of online completed Form 19 (found in https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/) and three application receipts
- Original passport and a copy of Bio-Data page
- Two passport size photographs (2.5 x 2.0 inches). They must be recent, colored & taken full face in white background
- Copy of Kenya National Identity card front and back (2nd Generation ID)
- Copy of the Recommender’s Kenyan National ID
- Copy of marriage certificate or deed poll where applicable.
- Parental Consent letter for Minors
Fees: Kshs. 4,550 (32 pages) Kshs. 6,050 (48 pages) Kshs. 7,550 (64 pages)
Passports Requirements for a minor Born in Uganda (Below 5 years)
- One of the parent must be a Kenyan
- Two printouts of online completed Form 19 (found in https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/) and three application receipts
- Original and a copy of Birth Certificate
- Two passport size photographs. They must be recent and colored
- Copies of Parent’s passport
- Copy of the Recommender’s Kenyan National ID
- Parental Consent Letter
Fees: Kshs. 4,550 (32 pages) Kshs. 6,050 (48 pages) Kshs. 7,550 (64 pages)
Requirements for Replacing a Damaged passport
- Two printouts of online completed Form 19 (found in https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/) and three application receipts
- Two passport size photographs (2.5 x 2.0 inches). They must be recent, colored & taken full face in white background
- The damaged original passport and copy of Bio-Data page
- Kenya National Identity card and a copy
- A sworn affidavit explaining the circumstances under which the passport got damaged
- Parental Consent letter for Minors
Fees: Kshs. 10,050
Replacement of lost/stolen passport
- Two printouts of online completed Form 19 (found in https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/) and three application receipts
- Kenya National Identity card and a copy
- Two passport size photographs (2.5 x 2.0 inches). They must be recent, colored & taken full face in white background
- A sworn affidavit explaining the circumstances under which the passport got lost
- Police abstract
- Copy of the Recommender’s Kenyan National ID
- Official request letter explaining circumstances of loss
- Parental Consent letter for Minors
